Baneva Concept Villas
Şanlıurfa, TR
Where the ancient echoes of Urfa meet the aspirations of contemporary living, the Baneva Concept Villas emerge as a considered response to the desire for private, yet connected, residential enclaves. Rather than imposing a singular vision, this 11,200 square meter development unfolds as a dialogue between carefully articulated individual dwellings and a shared landscape, offering a nuanced approach to modern domesticity in a historically rich setting. The arrangement of fourteen identical duplex villas becomes more than just a site plan; it’s an exercise in fostering community while safeguarding the essential need for personal space.
The master plan of the Baneva Concept Villas is defined by its deliberate semi-circular configuration. This architectural gesture is more than aesthetic; it’s a strategic move to maximize the privacy of each dwelling while subtly orienting them towards a shared central space, fostering a sense of belonging without compromising individual seclusion. Each villa is carefully positioned to carve out its own private domain, minimizing direct sightlines between residences. This measured approach of arrangement underscores the project’s commitment to creating an exclusive living experience where residents can enjoy a sense of serene independence.
Stepping inside each duplex villa reveals an interior narrative defined by open flow and a carefully curated palette of natural materials. The ground floor is conceived as a unified living space, where the living and dining areas merge seamlessly, promoting interaction and a sense of spaciousness. The adjacent kitchen, complete with a breakfast nook and a discreet pantry, is designed for both functionality and social engagement. A conveniently located guest bedroom on this level adds to the practicality of the layout. Ascending to the first floor, the design prioritizes individual comfort with four ensuite bedrooms, each offering a private retreat. A dedicated study provides a flexible space for work or contemplation, catering to the diverse needs of modern living. Throughout, the interplay of natural light, invited in through generous openings, dances across the carefully chosen surfaces, enhancing the tranquil ambiance.
The material choices throughout the villas contribute significantly to the overall ambiance. Grey patterned marble flooring provides a cool and sophisticated foundation, its subtle variations adding visual interest. Natural walnut wood cladding, finished with a rich dark brown varnish, introduces elements of warmth and tactile richness to selected wall surfaces, creating focal points and adding depth. In contrast, oak parquet flooring with a dark grey varnish defines the more intimate spaces, offering a sense of comfort and enclosure. Walls painted in a warm grey hue serve as a unifying backdrop, allowing natural light to become a dynamic element in shaping the interior atmosphere. Accents of dark brown marble in key areas introduce moments of refined modern style, while the application of decorative warm grey wallpaper adds subtle textural nuances and visual depth to specific rooms.
The seamless transition from interior to exterior is a defining characteristic of the Baneva Concept Villas. Each residence is carefully oriented to maximize its private outdoor space, recognizing the integral role of the external environment in enhancing the quality of daily life. The inclusion of individual swimming pools offers a private oasis for relaxation and recreation, while the thoughtfully designed landscaping further enhances the sense of seclusion and provides a verdant backdrop. These exterior spaces are conceived as extensions of the interior living areas, blurring the boundaries between the built and natural environments and fostering a connection with the outdoors.
The Baneva Concept Villas are more than just a collection of residences; they represent a considered response to the desire for contemporary living that balances privacy with a sense of community. The architect’s vision is rooted in creating enduring spaces that foster a sense of calm and privacy, responding to the specific context of Urfa with a contemporary yet grounded approach. The repetition of the villa typology, unified by a cohesive material language and a considered site plan, suggests a desire to create a harmonious community without sacrificing individual identity. This project embodies a quiet confidence, allowing the quality of the spaces and the interplay of light and material to speak for themselves, ultimately offering residents a serene and sophisticated sanctuary within the Anatolian landscape.
