Private Office
Istanbul, TR
This private office in Şişli provides a space of productive repose in the center of one of Istanbul’s major trading districts just minutes away from the city center. Situated in a 12,000 m2 commercial building adjacent to the subway and surrounded by new commercial and residential developments, this project’s design sought to create a physical space worthy of the company’s hard-earned reputation and well-respected public image.
For Quark Studio, one of the most important elements of the project was to create a welcoming entrance and comfortable ambiance that reflect the company’s high standards for quality and values of fostering strong, harmonious business partnerships. Entering into a grand, elegant foyer constructed of striking aquamarine marble, clients and guests are ushered into a comfortable and spacious waiting lounge complete with an impressive north-facing view of the Marmara Sea.
Quark’s team curated a simple and elegant blend of natural elements details the office’s interior including minimalist furniture and custom flooring. Moreover, the same sophisticated and soothing palette of natural tones is maintained throughout the office for both structural features and decorative fixtures, ranging from beige window frames to dark wood to bronze light fixtures. In addition to providing a sense of stability and grounding, the beautiful oak paneling selected for the office also works to dampen noise in transitional spaces and to maintain the privacy and silences that are so vital to thoughtful business practices.
In order to balance the prominent use of dark wooden furniture and paneling in the office, Quark paid special attention to introducing light and uplifting elements into space, especially through the use of floor-to-ceiling windows as well as glass paneling as partitions. Mirrors, metallic fixtures, and a unique bronze statement artwork serve as elegant, eye-catching accents that also amplify natural sources of light. Finally, the brilliant marbled turquoise tones in the foyer create a link between the office’s stately interior and the constantly shifting blue hues of the sky and seascape just outside.
