As part of the development of the World Business Center project in Istanbul, Quark Studio was responsible for the design and management of the renewed Ethica Sigorta Headquarters. The driving concept for this project was to create a simultaneously stylish and professional workspace with the latest technological and architectural amenities.

In keeping with the Ethica’s leadership role within the insurance industry, Quark’s design team selected a boldly saturated color and strong material palette to define the physicality of the company’s new permanent headquarters. The look and feel of this office is defined by vertical dark wooden panels and polished marble creates a striking visual contrast with custom-designed oak furniture and brightly colored decorative accents.

Upon entering the headquarters, visitors are ushered into a calm open space directly opposite the firm’s faultlessly attentive reception staff. The semi-circular sofa in the waiting lounge gently mirrors the curve of the reception desk–a subtle physical cue reinforcing the company’s resolute commitment to building trusting relationships with those who enter its doors. Similarly, the gleaming black mirrors behind the reception, which contrasts gently with the matte black paneling found in the rest of the room, reflects not only the room’s multiple sources of light but also the company’s foundational values of reflecting upon the unique perspectives of its clients and business partners.

The interior of the office demonstrates a measured balance between the business principles of reliability and openness through the strategic use of high-quality and minimally-processed materials, with a special focus on the contrast between solid wood and semi-transparent glass elements. Lightly stained oak parquet used for flooring throughout the office maintains a tasteful, calming atmosphere, providing visual affinity with darker wooden wall paneling and statement furniture. Simultaneously, green-tinted glass dividers, as well as stainless steel and ceramic accents and fixtures, contribute to the office’s open, transparent culture of communication and business relationships.
