Altest Debelt Factory
Burgas, BG
The Altest Debelt Factory, designed by Quark Architects, transcends the boundaries of conventional factory design through a balance of luxury and functionality, while catering to customer engagement and employee well-being.
Envisioned as a two-story building for the Altest group of companies, the design spans a total area of 1,250 sqm and houses a luxurious showroom on the ground floor and offices designed for productivity and comfort on the upper floor. The design philosophy revolves around creating an exceptionally inviting atmosphere, achieved through the use of high-quality materials, the strategic integration of natural elements, and a soothing color palette.
A key element of the design philosophy lies in the strategic use of Altest’s own products. Glazings, aluminum panels, skirting, and other aluminum elements are proudly showcased, not just for their functionality but also as a testament to the factory’s capabilities. Through this distinct approach, Quark Architects ensures a cohesive and visually appealing experience that reflects the client’s brand identity and reinforces the brand’s expertise.
The building’s form reflects the functional division of the interior layout, creating a clear visual distinction while maintaining a cohesive overall design language. The layout prioritizes efficiency with a division between the showroom occupying the ground floor and the upper floor housing the offices.
The showroom is designed for an immersive product experience, where every detail is thoughtfully crafted to showcase the brand’s products in their finest form. Its interiors adopt an industrial-inspired theme, with an expansive, open-plan layout that maximizes product display, while a monochromatic color palette dominated by warm grey tones allows the products to take center stage. The strategic use of alcoves not only provides dedicated functional areas but also breaks the monotony without sacrificing openness.
This space utilizes luxurious materials like marble flooring and glossy surfaces to elevate the space, reflecting light and creating a sense of grandeur. Its sleek black, dynamic ceiling design is a bold choice that not only adds a touch of sophistication but also emphasizes the clean lines and minimalist design that permeates the entire space.
The large glass fenestrations ensure that natural light floods the showroom throughout the day, while the artificial lighting scheme is used to illuminate the interiors at night. Recessed lighting creates a soothing overall ambience, while LED strips highlight specific products. Moreover, large LED screens showcase captivating videos of products to further engage customers.
The office spaces on the upper floor are designed for optimal productivity and comfort, with a layout that fosters a balance between collaboration and privacy. A series of collaborative spaces, such as conference rooms and training rooms encourage teamwork and communication, while partitions and acoustic panels create designated zones for focused work and private meetings. Moreover, common areas like pantries and break rooms encourage interaction and relaxation.
Quark Architects’ understanding of the importance of employee well-being is demonstrated in the thoughtful details. The office spaces are designed to maximize natural light penetration through strategically placed windows, reducing reliance on artificial lighting and creating a brighter, more cheerful atmosphere. The color palette plays a key role in setting the mood. The combination of beige, white, and lava grey shades seamlessly blend with wooden claddings integrated throughout the space.
Ample storage ensures a clutter-free work environment, and all office furniture is carefully curated for its comfort and support, with correct ergonomics to minimize fatigue. Adjustable desks and chairs allow for personalized preferences, further enhancing individual comfort, and promoting well-being and productivity in the working environment.
Quark Architects are known for their contemporary and innovative design elements, and the Altest Debelt Factory is no exception. One such signature design element is the use of alcoves with natural-looking greenery embedded into the walls. This seemingly simple element adds a depth of functionality and aesthetic appeal that elevates the space in a multitude of ways. This biophilic design creates a connection to nature within the interiors, fostering a sense of well-being and reducing stress to facilitate a productive working environment. Its calming ambience helps to keep the clients at ease, leaving a positive and lasting impression on visitors and employees alike.
Ultimately, the Altest Debelt Factory’s interiors are a testament to Quark Architects’ ability to translate the client’s vision into a reality, leaving a lasting impression on visitors and solidifying their reputation for innovative and thoughtful design.
