Stella* Restaurant

Bodrum, TR

Seamlessly blending multiple traditions of Mediterranean architecture, this recent Quark project brings an upscale Italian restaurant to the heart of the LUX* Hotel development. This open and airy 114-seat space intertwines the specificity of Italian villa aesthetics with the perpetually cosmopolitan spirit of Mediterranean beach culture.

For this project, Quark selected subdued colors and unelaborated classical designs for Stella* to facilitate an authentic experience of Italian food culture, which prioritizes providing every comfort of home to guests over long, multi-course meals filled with conversation and laughter. The repetition of clear lines and simple shapes throughout the restaurant space provides a soothing regularity that allows patrons’ attention to drift comfortably amongst the star attractions of this upscale dining experience: dynamic views, pleasant company, and toothsome fare.

The elongated main dining hall of Stella* is exposed on three sides breathtaking panoramic view of the blue Aegean Sea, the forested rocky cliffs and private beach below. A clean white and natural wood palette maintains the centrality of the ever-shifting display of vibrantly colored natural beauty. Additionally, the consistent use of long vertical lines in a variety of materials–whether strong white columns, delicate metal dividers or drop-down light fixtures–subtly reinforces the concept.

For this project, Quark selected spectacular floor-to-ceiling views to stand.

The main hall is a Mediterranean design theme made of white materials with maximum care that has been attended to the environmental comfort, with special onsite productions to optimize the visionary attractions and the light control with programmed lightening moods depending on the intended use of the space.

Among the multitudinous colors, the most significantly used is snow-white which gives an impression of a monumental creation. Snow-white color as often referred by Arthur R. Kelly is a precise choice to define our artistic impressions with a pure fusion form blended with life. The improvising of various colors and materials with the main color in any spot of the restaurant has sensitively explored to accomplish the desired impact and finishes.

For this project, the use of light hues for decoration, seating arrangements, and custom lighting takes advantage of the stunning seaside panorama while controlling the glare and heat from sunlight for the comfort of the restaurant’s patrons.
