Villa Seven

Bodrum, TR

Perched on a small, private plateau on the Bodrum coastline, Villa 7 offers stunning views of both the Aegean Sea and the crystalline Tuzla Lake. Quark’s design for this 200 m2 villa holds minimalism and efficiency as its two guiding principles.

Using simple and classical geometric forms, the building’s profile rises gently out of Bodrum’s beautiful rolling hills and blends seamlessly into the landscape through the use of multiple indoor-outdoor transitional spaces. The result is a bright and breezy atmosphere that beckons visitors they approach the Villa from one of the several access paths that wind around the grassy knoll.

The materials used for the building’s façade include Indian flexstone, natural wood, grey concrete, and beige aluminum glazing. Taken as a whole, these materials form the basis of the Villa’s earth-tone palette, which is complemented by the use of light colors, finishes, and accents that grace the Villa’s interior. The light concrete blocks used to build the paths are offset not only by the brilliant colors of the lush lawn, arboreal landscaping, and floral accents but also by the shimmering reflections of the outdoor pool and multiple patio spaces.

In order to maintain the critically important balance between cozy creature comforts and elegant modern design, this villa was furnished with a carefully curated set of modern furniture pieces in light, unobtrusive natural tones. Select accents, such as a stunning bronze globe chandelier and a full-length wall-mounted mirror contribute both visual interest and additional sources of light to this airy interior. High-tech household appliances and communications infrastructure along with a custom open floor plan allow Villa 7 to be transformed easily from a recreational oasis into a place for uninterrupted creative and productive output–not to mention a space for impressive at-home entertaining.
